The Benefits of Owning a Canister Steam Cleaner

What kinds of jobs can a canister steam cleaner tackle?  Actually, an easier question to answer might be what can’t they do!

First of all, if you have never heard of these gizmos before, take a look at our recent reviews of the McCulloch MC-1275 and the SteamMax SF-275.  Both models cost around $150.00 and come loaded with lots of tools.  They clean virtually any surface you can think of, using steam instead of harsh chemical cleansers to wipe out dirt, grease and grime.

Here’s a better look at the types of cleaning projects they can tackle…

Bathrooms

Forget the bleach.  Throw out the Lysol.  Skip the Windex.  Canister steam cleaners can tackle bathrooms without these harsh chemicals.  Countertops, sinks, toilet rims, bathtubs, shower stalls and doors, mirrors, and even tile flooring will sparkle.  Many models come with tools to help these cleaning jobs go more quickly.  For instance, attach a squeegee to the steam nozzle, and use it to wipe away soap scum on shower doors and clean hairspray and toothpaste from mirrors.  Many include some type of equipment for steam cleaning floors, eliminating the need for a mop and bucket.

Kitchens

Grease and grime tend to build up everywhere in the kitchen.  Use a canister steam cleaner to wipe up appliances, removing splatters from ovens and reaching those hard to reach places in the refrigerator corners.  Like the bathroom, use it to clean countertops, cabinet fronts, sinks and floors.

Garages

Who dreads the idea of cleaning their grill?  This chore is much easier when you can blast away the crud with hot steam.  It’s still a messy job, but at least you are feeding your family hamburgers, steaks, and chicken that are free of chemical grill cleaners.  You can also use your canister steam cleaner to brighten up dingy patio furniture and even disinfect and deodorize your garbage container.

Once you get started, you will see endless possibilities for using canister steam cleaners.  There are an infinite amount of possibilities, and in the long run, you will not only have a cleaner home, but will probably save a little cash, by no longer needing to buy expensive cleaners at the store!

How do you use your canister steam cleaner?  We would love to hear your ideas of how to put these gadgets to good use…

I purchased a canister steam cleaner, april 2010. Have not used it yet.Bought it at wal-mart says for curtains, clothes. I really wanted it to use on flat carpet in kitchen and bathrooms. Have a toy poodle who misses her pea pads and tinkles on carpet. Instead of purchasing expensive heavy duty, bissell or hoover.
I would like to use water and less chemicals as i have ashtma, ms, and host of health conditions.
