Rug Doctor= Best in-Home purchase iv'e made ever...sooo useful we don't even put it away; just next to the last muddy paw prints or baby-meal-turned-carpet-artwork area. Soooooo bummed though; bought a floor doctor attachment and it worked great for about 3 minutes. Called 1800rugdoctor new attachment, free!...ok second try. Better; i think i got 4 minutes in before the connector barb on the handle broke. They use brittle plastic barbs to attach the water hose at the spray control handle! nice brass fittings everywhere else WTF is that? I love this machine and the ease of cleaning it allows me but this is just bad business...the hardwood floor attachment works great but brakes instantly and they send me a replacement that brakes too. Maybe a bad batch but i've lost out on a lot of money waiting for this thing to work...charge half for the good ol' hot mop...Anyone have any experience same better worse with the floor Dr. attachment? IMO make all the water fittings metal and sell a ton of em to grateful people

I love the the Oreck steam-it it has been a blessing in my home and I would not get rid of it for anything. I have many animals and it has come in handy. I like the fact that I can use my own cloth if the others are dirty. the only problem I have kinda had with it is its heavy. but I just use it as I need to work out lol I would Highley Recommended it.

Most expensive piece of junk I have ever bought.

We bought the ProHeat 2x about two years ago and cleaned the carpets twice. Following first clean we sent it back because it was not sucking up the water from the carpet. After that, I had to dismantle the boiler because it scaled up. It has now decided to stop picking up water again, only this time it is out of guarantee and we are now deciding that iur only option is to dump it.

I am truely disappointed in my Proheat 2x( 2nd one) the first, I did not buy the warr. and now the 2 one has been worked on just after 2 times. Used once, and went to clean carpets again and it won't spray the cleamer out. I am just going to throw away!!!!!

I would agree with all of the above. Also, 15 months after purchase the water tank started to leak hot steaming water down the side of the wand, making it useless. I called and they told me it could not be repaired and did not offer to replace it - eventhough it was obviously defective. (Only 5 months warranty). At first I loved it. Turned out to be a piece of junk.

I am on my second Shark steam mop. The first one stopped working after about 7 months. However, I had loaned it to a friend and when it was returned I found it was no longer working. I thought my friend had done something wrong while using it. My second Shark lasted about the same amount of time. The same thing happened. The mop would heat the (distilled) water, but the steam didn't come out. I had puddles of water on the floor instead. I decided to try it a second time, just to make sure it wasn't working. I plugged it in and within two minutes, the purple side cover by the water tank busted. I immediately unplugged it. I'm glad I didn't leave the room. Who knows what might have happened after a few more minutes? I'm looking for a new brand of steam mop. I don't recommend the Shark to anyone! A hundred dollars plus is just too much money for seven months of use.

To me, it's only logical. Anything that uses tap water that's HARD & a heater that heats that "hard tap water" is bound to clog. Look at coffee makers, humidifiers, etc.

Quite FRANKLY...........I've used distilled white vinegar & hot water to clean the carpets without the soap. The vinegar cleans the carpets and you don't get soap build up and it keeps the machine clean at the same time. No chemicals and with the vinegar being used, it will keep the machine from clogging. The vinegar smell is gone once the carpets are dry and no need to rinse the diluted vinegar.
