The Monster Floor EZ1 Steam Mop has some unique features not offered by other models:
Adjustable Steam Levels
First, it offers four different adjustable steam levels. Using the sliding control on the front of the unit, you are able to select the appropriate level of steam for the surface being cleaned. Use the lowest level for cleaning vinyl and laminate floors, the medium settings for hard surface flooring such as ceramic tile, and the highest setting for carpeted surfaces.
Use On Carpets
Carpets? Yes, you read that right. the Monster EZ1 Steam Mop comes with an accessory called a carpet sledge. The sledge attaches to the base of the unit, over the microfiber steam pad. The sledge allows the machine to easily slide over carpeted surfaces. It will not deep clean like a traditional carpet steam cleaner. However, it will pick up surface grime and loosen grit and animal hair, so that your vacuum sweeper can more effectively pick up these items.
Two Steam Jets
In addition to the standard downward steam jet, it also has front steam jets. To produce downward steam, pull back on the handle. For a forward jet of steam, use the trigger. This forward jet of steam is especially handy for cleaning around kitchen and bathroom fixtures and baseboards, in vertical corners, and on stairs. So far, we have not found any other steam mops that offer two steam jets. When and if we do, we will let you know. However, as of this writing, it appears that the front steam jet is exclusive to the Monster.
Machine Washable Microfiber Pads
Three machine washable microfiber pads come with the Monster Steam Mop, and additional ones can be purchased separately. The microfiber pads have a hook and loop system that holds them on the base of the mop head.

Does the Monster come with a short handle to use for a mattress, or sofa?
I have had this for approximately 2 years. It does have a conveniently long cord. I have had excellent results, until recently. Unfortunately, it no longer heats up.
And to answer Freddie question no it does not have a short handle. Nor would I use it on a mattress or sofa. It leaves a fair amount of moisture.
